Want to be really different and original? Try wearing your head scarf in some other ways too. Besides for wearing them on your head or as a winter scarf, there are some other really exciting ways they can be worn. Bet you never thought you could make so much of that head scarf when you bought it! Below are some ideas we came up with, but when it comes to head scarves, the sky’s the limit!

1. Wear it as a Shawl

A head scarf makes a great shawl. It comes in handy in the house when you’re a little chilly, outdoors on a cool day, as an extra layer under your coat or simply to dress up an outfit. A large oblong Israeli tichel with lurex can be used as a shawl and even makes it a lot more exciting since there is that added sparkle of silver lurex plus a lot of isreli tichel come with fringes to add even more interest.

2. Wear it as a Sash

If you are looking for an original kind of belt to match your outfit, try using your long oblong head scarf and tie it around your waist. Depending on exactly which style you are looking for you may want to either fold it, twist it or scrunch it before you tie it around your waist. You can tie it into a knot, a tie or a bow depending on the occasion.

3. Tie it as a Head Wrap

Take a small square head scarf and fold it into a thin band. Then, put the middle of the band by your neck under all your hair. Take the two ends and tie them on top of your head in a knot or a bow. This tie can give you the look of Rosie The Riveter.

4. Tie it like a Bow tie

Take a small square head scarf, fold it into a triangle, put it around your neck and tie it! Simple as 1,2,3! This is almost like sailor look. Small square head scarves come in tons of bold or muted patterns, you can either opt for silk which is more expensive or stick with the cheaper polyester.

Head scarves are really a world of their own and make great accessories for every and any occasion. So before shopping for your many accessories try to see what you can do with the head scarves you already have. For those of you who don’t have any you may want to consider buying some!
