A Boar Bristle brush can actually have many benefits to the quality of your hair

Like lots of other women out there, I’m sure you may wonder what the difference between a regular hair brush with plastic bristles and a brush with boar bristles is. What is boar anyways? How come people make such a big deal over the brushes with boar bristles especially in the winter time? Below you will find everything you need to know about a brush with boar bristles and we’ll leave choosing the right type of hair brush for yourself up to you.

For starters, a boar is actually a male pig. Boar bristles are the pig’s hair which is harvested from slaughterhouses where boars are slaughtered, and attached to the brushes with glue. I know this seems a little gross, but when you hear all the benefits it can actually have on your hair, I’m not sure you’ll be so grossed out anymore.

Our scalp produces natural oils to keep our hair healthy at all times. When brushing our hair, we distribute the healthy oils all around, from the top to the bottom of our hair to keep it healthy. Using a plastic brush does not always to such a great job spreading the healthy oils everywhere, which is why they came out with a brush that has natural bristles instead of synthetic bristles. So while you may be spending lots of money on the perfect shampoos and extra oils to keep your hair moist and healthy, sometimes all you really need is the right brush to do the trick.

In the winter, our hair tends to be extra dry than usual due to the harsh cold winds which is why using a brush with boar bristles is really a great option in the winter. Obviously, a brush with plastic bristles will not damage your hair, but it may not do as good as a job spreading the oils which may really affect the quality of your hair.

So if you’ve been suffering from a dry scalp or crimpy hair you might want to try using a brush with boar bristles to help your situation and see a real difference.
Good Luck!
