What are the trending hairstyles for Fall 2014/Winter 2015?

Braids this season are all about taking the ordinary braid and bringing it to the extra-ordinary!

It’s that time of year again…the changing of the fashion seasons. With fall just about upon us, lets see what’s trending in hair styles for fall 2014/Winter 2015. This week we will focus on the hairstyles themselves, and next week we will take a closer look at the hair accessories for women and girls that make this all possible.
One big trend that we are seeing this season is the dramatic side part. Past seasons have seen this part in a less dramatic style – parted closer to center of the head, however for this season, we are seeing it more side-swept. Closer to the ear and very sleek. This is a great hair style for medium to long hair styles and is nice because you do not need to cut your hair for it – leaving you with many options for how to style your hair this season.
Another trend we are seeing in all it’s glory is the classic braid! Braids, like we discussed here are all over this season. When you think braids, what do you think of? Two youthful braids at the side of the head tied up in hair bows? Or a more mature version of one braid down your back? For Braids 2014/2015 think again! Braids this season are all about taking the ordinary braid and bringing it to the extra-ordinary! Try braiding your hair like a headband (or just cheat with a store bought hair band that looks like a braid!). Another nice style is lots of small braids coming from the crown of your head and leading towards the back, or use that youthful two braids in a more sophisticated manner by having them start a little further back on your head and add a stylish headband with diamond studs.
I am sure you will all be happy to hear that the pony is back! Much like the “messy” bun of 2013, the pony this year is seen pulled back low in a carefree way. If you think that it is easy to achieve this look, think again! Sometimes getting the right casual look is harder than you think! This look can be achieved with a wider hair elastic, or scrunchie and looks amazing with a center part.
The most important thing this season is to use your individuality to combine and make the most amazing styles that look good on YOU!
Have fun with your hair this season and enjoy!

backtoschoolThe first day of school is nearing. It’s a fresh start. Brand new hair accessories, school supplies, pencils crisply sharpened and the folders just waiting to be filled with homework sheets and assignments. I can smell the plastic of the new binders and the rich leather of new shoes; and I smile. There is the care free feeling of a young child just waiting to drink in the knowledge that they’ll soon learn.

The big question is of course: What is your little one going to wear in her hair on her first day of school?

All the girls will come in looking all fresh and neat with a renewed excitement that the summer brought about. Start her year on the right foot with a variety of neat, stylish, preppy and fresh hair accessories! Below are a few cute ideas you might want to try in her hair.

  • As we all know, braids are at the peek of fashion this season. If your daughters hair is nice and sleek, consider leaving her hair down with a middle part. Then, make a nice size braid on each side and tie them together in the back for a princess look. You can always add a nice little bow to tie it all up. This look will definitely give off some sunshine as she walks into her classroom for the very first time.
  • Hair bows. They come in lots of different sizes and styles depending on the age. They can be worn in many different ways – you just got to be original! Form a half a pony to a pony to anything in between you never go wrong when you stick to hair bows.
  • Hard headbands make the perfect hair accessory to keep a kids hair out of her face. Try a neon, bright and cool hard headband and let your little princess shine this year!
  • Does your child want to wear her hair up yet it’s still a little too short to stay up? Try giving her a banana clip! A banana clip will not only keep her hair together but it will make her hair look long. In addition, banana clips are really cool and exciting – it’ll definitely give her a boost!

So go ahead and get cracking on finding that perfect hair accessory for your little girl and you’ll see how excited she’ll be on that first day of school when she looks nothing less than perfect.

The Braid Craze – Are YOU Hooked On Yet?

braidheadband-girlBraids, braids, braids. For a while, we thought we were kind of over them – but not for long! From fishtail braids, Pig tail braids, and more – Braids are the new craze this season. It seriously almost as if people have gone braid crazy, but I’m sure you can agree that they’re not to blame. Braids are fresh, braids and stylish and they are definitely beautiful. With braids in full swing we have the braid headbands flying.

Some of us are not lazy and will make a braid headband out of our real hair. How? Simply take a nice portion of hair from right above your right ear. Make a braid and bring it over as a head band all the way down to your left air. Pin it with a bobby pin and tadam- all done!

For those of us who ARE lazy on the other hand, consider wearing a braid headband! A braid headband is a hard headband with teeth that has a braid along it made of synthetic hair. It comes in 4 hair colors to match your hair. All you have to do is put it on and you look all hair styled.

Once you try them, I’m sure you’ll agree that braids are really all they are made out to be. You can have so much fun with braids so give them a shot!
