An Ode To Mothers

There is nothing like a MOM

There is nothing like a MOM

Now that Mother’s Day is here, I think it’s about time we give thanks to all the mothers out there. Although you may forget from time to time, Mother’s day is only a SMALL token of appreciation for the lifetime of sacrifices she has made. In reality, every day is (or should be for that matter) Mother’s Day. Unlike any other job, a mother’s work is never done. She works around the clock and her only reward is watching your happiness. So what exactly makes a good mom? This is a questions that cannot be answered in words – but actions say a lot.

So let’s give a round of applause and a huge and necessary thank you –
To all the Moms with wrinkles on their faces for they speak of our childhood and her motherhood
To all the moms who work a job to put food on the table and all the moms who don’t work at all
To all the moms who’ve complimented and criticized to help us get to heights we thought we’d never reach
To all the moms who constantly worry for their children’s wellbeing and happiness
To all the moms who never stop caring, loving and forgiving no matter our failures, mistakes and broken hearts
To all the moms who carry their children in their hearts wherever they go
To all the moms who’ve sat by your bedside when you were sick or read you that bedtime book just one more time
To all the moms who kept smiling even when things were hard as not to trouble you
To all the moms who’ve cried and shed some tears for their children
To all the moms who’ve baked her children’s favorite cookies just because she cared
To all the moms who never even got a chance to hold their babies, cradle them or watch them grow
And of course the list goes on.

So this Mother’s Day, let’s try to let her know that her sacrifices have not been wasted and that you cherish every little thing she has ever done for you. Let’s try to forgive and forget for all the grudges we may be holding against her- she only means well. Surprise her with a gift, flowers or a beautiful card and let’s try to make this Mother’s Day the best Mother’s Day she’s ever had!!

Family Life: Reflections of a Mom

Reflection of a Mom

1. I’m not into working out. My philosophy is no pain, no pain.

2. I’m in shape. Round is a shape.

3. I’ve always wanted to be somebody, but I should have been more specific.

4. Ever notice when you blow in a dog’s face he gets mad at you, but when you take him in a car he sticks his head out the window?

5. Ever notice that anyone driving slower than you is an idiot, but anyone going faster is a maniac?

6. You have to stay in shape. My mother started walking five miles a day when she was 60. She’s 97 now and we have no idea where she is.

7. I have six locks on my door, all in a row. When I go out, I lock every other one. I figure no matter how long somebody stands there picking the locks, they are always locking three of them.
